Hailing from a family of cricketers, Shubham Ranjhane is an all-rounder who was picked up by Rajasthan Royals at the auctions ahead of IPL 2019. His grandfather - Vasant Ranjane was also an all-rounder has represented India in the 1950's. While his father - Subhash played for Maharashtra and represented the India Under-19 team in his professional cricket career. Shubham made his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2016 and has played nearly 10 first-class matches since then. One of his most recent prolific performances came while playing for DY Patil Sports Academy as the all-rounder smashed a swashbuckling century.
Ranjane usually bats lower down the order, hence he can be called as a bowling all-rounder. His ability to swing the ball makes him a lethal weapon and he also chipped in with valuable contributions for Mumbai in the recently concluded Ranji season. In the match against Baroda, Ranjane took three wickets and got a 50-plus score in the second innings. There's a pool of talented cricketers in the Rajasthan Royals' squad, hence, for Ranjane to make it through to the playing XI, he'll need to impress the think tank with his all-round abilities either in the practice matches or else in the nets.
