Higgins is a leg-spinner who is also a useful middle-order batsman. He was the shining star in the U-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. First he rescued his team with the bat by scoring 74 against Nepal and then contributed with the ball against England. This kind of performances earned him a place in the ODI squad, even though he played only one first-class game. Higgins was not a big turner of the ball but had the variations to trouble the batsmen.
He played 11 ODIs and the highlight being, him getting rid of Brian Lara in the sixth ODI at Port of Spain. At the age of 18, Higgins decided to retire from international cricket. He has now settled in Cotswolds and is the Managing Director of Gecko Cricket, which he founded in 2012.
