Rehan Ahmed is a leg spinner of Pakistani descent who represents England in International cricket. His father Naeem Ahmed was a former club cricketer in Pakistan, who moved over to England in 2001 in search of a better life. Rehan was born three years later in Nottingham and almost naturally took to cricket.
At age 13, he was already touted to be one of the brightest stars for the future of England, after he clean bowled Ben Stokes in an invitational net session. Rehan was part of the 2022 U19 World Cup, where England finished as runners-up. He was fast tracked to the England team as well, getting a Test debut away to Pakistan as an 18-year-old and took a fifer on debut as well as England won the series 3-0. Despite such a solid debut, Rehan’s opportunities have been limited, being used primarily as a spinner in the sub continent, with folks like Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir being preferred ahead of him in home Tests.
Apart from Tests, Rehan has been a regular feature in franchise cricket as well, representing Southern Brave since 2022. He has also got a handful of ODI games as well for England, which shows that the management view him as much more than a red ball bowler..
