Kyle Verreynne is a young wicket-keeper batsman who plays for the Cape Cobras. At the age of 18, Verreynne made his first-class debut and since then he has played many crucial knocks for whichever team he has played for. Verreynne's average of 50-plus displays his potential and makes him a future prospect for Proteas. Verreynne did his schooling in Wynberg Boys' High School (the school which has produced the likes of Jacques Kallis and Richard Levi). He took part in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup held in Bangladesh and ended up as South Africa's second highest run-getter, though his team didn't fare well in the competition. AB de Villiers is Kyle's favorite batsman just like many other South African youngsters of the present generation. Straight drive is his favorite shot as it makes him feel good once he connects it during a match; helps him get in sync and acts as a confidence booster in his words. His main goal in life is to play Test Cricket for South Africa and Verreynne has kick-started his domestic career on a bright note. Playing as a batsman-cum-wicketkeeper for Cape Cobras, the youngster amassed 580 and 583 runs respectively in two consecutive seasons (2017-18 and 2018-19) in the first-class arena. He was awarded the Domestic newcomer of the season in 2018. Kyle played for Cape Town Blitz in the inaugural Mzansi Super League and made a statement straightaway by becoming the second half-centurion of the competition. However, he lost his place in the XI later after the return of the experienced Quinton de Kock into the squad. In 2019, the Paarl Rocks franchise roped the wicket-keeper batsman in place of an injured Aiden Markram.
