A left handed batsman who can bowl off-break, Salman Nizar is a 21-year old budding cricketer from Kerala. He has represented Kerala at the Under14, Under16 levels and is a part of the Kerala Ranji squad at present. His first-class debut came back in 2015 against Assam at Kannur wherein Nizar didn't have a significant contribution in the match. He came to bat at number 8 but didn't bowl a single over in the entire match. Salman prefers to play the shorter formats and that's evident from his stats. He's got an average of 30-plus in his List A career but the average dips to 28-odd when it comes to first-class cricket. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy fixture between Tripura and Kerala at Bhubaneswar in Feb 2017, Nizar got his highest List A score of 82 and was involved in a crucial partnership of 100-plus with Kerala skipper Sachin Baby. However, even after Nizar playing such a crucial knock, Kerala ended on the losing side. He's just 21 now and with time by his side, Salman would've plenty of opportunities coming his way in near future. If he's determined enough, Salman will surely be able to achieve greater heights in this sport.
