Cameron Delport is a doughty Protea batsman, born with the pizzazz to brace the shorter formats. After rising to top-level cricket through the grind of state-level domestic cricket, he was showed himself to be a natural in the T20 format and made it to the KwaZulu-Natal cricket team squad for the Africa T20 Cup in 2015. Delport has also played in Australia’s franchise-based T20 tournament, the BBL, for the Sydney Thunder; and in the Caribbean Premier League. He shot into the limelight during the 2014 Champions’ League T20 when he scored an unprecedented cameo, a 9-ball 34, for Dolphins in a losing cause against the Chennai Super Kings during a chase. It further added to his stock value for global franchises that he ended an international T20 league with a strike-rate of 280. In his travels to play T20 cricket around the world, he was also a part of the inaugural PSL, playing for the Lahore franchise, and finally, he was signed by Leicestershire in 2016 for a county stint as well as a shot in the T20 Blast. The southpaw plays for Paarl Rocks in the Mzansi Super League. He was the second highest run-getter for his team in its inaugural edition scoring 197 runs in five innings at a stunning strike-rate of 168.37.
